Renovation and extention of an apartment situated in London, Hammersmith Grove. The aim is the redefinition of the internal distribution and a new organization of the different spaces. Starting from the entrance the apartament is completely renovated. The entrance introduces the visitor in a corridor space that offers a perspective view of the garden in the back. The position of the dining room, opened to the corridor, produces a fluid and dinamic space. The sensation to be in a continuous space, is increased by the using of the zenithal lighting, coming from the glass ceiling. The kitchen is the core of the house, sintuated instead the old sleeping room. It is contained into a black wood box. The two new sleeping room and the study are placed in the new volume, opened to the garden by two new big sliding glass doors. The extention is located 80 cm below ground level. This solution allows the placement of a glass ribbon on the old facade, over the esxtension roof level, to light the kitchen.
