The project for the new MEG museum is located into the garden, that is situated on the back of the old museum.
The new exposition areas is organised inside a new volume, which is shaped as a big chiped stone.
The main entrance takes the visitors directly to the hall, thought as a big covered square.
The different functions of the museum are organized inside the different volumes suspended on the hall space.
The visitor library is located at the top level of the building. Outside the library there is a big covered panoramic terrace.
The spaces between the external skin and the museum's volumes contain the emergency stairs.
The external skin is maded by metallic micro-drilled panels. This solution allows to make visible from the ouside,
the articulation of the inside volumes. This metallic coating sets up an efficienty screening from the solar irradiation, without
restricting the transparency. The requested office spaces are located inside the old building. Two external lifts, situated
near the existig stairs, link vertically the different floors.
